The NAVSYS Business Development Director is responsible for strategic outreach, marketing and technical sales leadership for our advanced GPS, Navigation, Networking and Signal Processing products. This individual will require a strong technical and strategic planning acumen to drive the productizing of our technology and systems. This includes understanding new technology applications and the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision, identifying key business relationships to deliver profit, as well as marketing and sales efforts to ensure revenue goals are met. |

| Job Description |
- Develop and maintain an understanding of NAVSYS products, proposals, presentations and capability.
- Help define the strategy and roadmap for NAVSYS technology and products, and write commercialization plans for products and proposals when requested by the Technical Program Manager.
- Perform market and competitive analysis to identify business opportunities for NAVSYS technology and products within both the commercial and Government markets. Become an expert with respect to the competition.
- Work with external third parties to assess business partnerships and licensing opportunities.
- Develop pricing and licensing models for sale of NAVSYS commercial products.
- Develop company name and product recognition, and develop core positioning and messaging for the company and products.
- Develop and pursue leads for new business opportunities for our technology and products, respond to customer inquiries, perform product demos, and coordinate product sales activities with NAVSYS staff.
- Support proposal efforts with the product teams, and write BAA White Papers to initiate programs.
- Prepare materials to advance the business development effort, including: PowerPoint presentations and handouts, marketing and sales documents with features and discriminators, sales literature and tools for product promotion, trade show booth literature and signage, and journal articles and press releases on products and applications.
- Represent NAVSYS and promote its products and technology by attending targeted trade shows, conferences, and business meetings.

| Job Requirements |
| This position requires an experienced self-starter with strong independent and team abilities. The successful candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills and experience: |
- 10 years experience in a complex technical environment, preferably aerospace and defense with demonstrated leadership experience and success in business development, product development, market research analysis, marketing and sales.
- Engineering and program management experience, and a strong familiarity with the commercial and military positioning, navigation and timing markets is preferred. Experience with and knowledge of GPS applications including personnel and resource tracking, GPS jamming scenarios, weapons guidance, precision targeting, call-for-fire, and related C4ISR applications, is a plus.
- Experience with government (DOD) business development and proposal generation.
- Experience in negotiating commercial contracts is desirable.
- Experienced with driving new technology into the marketplace through market research and knowledge of key customer buying behaviors. Experience in moving technology through Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) phases into commercialization is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the competitive landscape and analysis of competitors’ pricing of similar capabilities.
- Help maintain strong customer relations by maintaining a thorough knowledge base of key customers and their critical needs with good communication into the NAVSYS technology development teams.
- Ability to brainstorm with engineers and customers to deliver solutions using NAVSYS technologies.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with professional presentation experience.
- Ability to design and organize appropriate themes, key messages, and company capabilities for presentation at conventions, trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
- Frequent travel to support customer meetings and sales efforts.
- A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to handle multiple, changing priorities a must!

| Citizenship, Education, and Security Clearance |
- US Citizenship is required.
- BS degree or higher in Electrical, Computer or Aerospace Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
- Individuals with an active security clearance are preferred. Candidates without active security clearance will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
